CONGRATULATIONS, MR. DAVID DONLON, ON 5 YEARS AT SCA!

Congratulations, David Donlon, on 5 years at St. Cecilia Academy. Mr. Donlon teaches high school physics and is the head Tennis Coach. He believes the best part about teaching at SCA is being part of a faithful community with the mission to educate and form the best students.

Mr. Donlon shared his thoughts about being part of the St. Cecilia community.
“I have known about SCA all my life,” said Mr. Donlon. “I grew up in Nashville and my mom, sisters, and several aunts and cousins graduated from St. Cecilia, including Megan Whaley for whom the Athlete of the Year Award is named.”

After graduating from Montgomery Bell Academy, he earned his B.S. in Engineering Science from Vanderbilt University. He joined the Overbrook Catholic School faculty and taught sixth through eighth-grade science, math, and Latin for nine years before moving to SCA.

When describing what it is like to teach at St. Cecilia, he stated, “I get to be part of a faithful community of professional educators and work with great families. I also get to be part of the Dominican mission to educate and form the best students around!”

While attending MBA, he was in two SCA theater productions, so it was fun for him to return to the St. Cecilia stage in the school’s production of Annie last year. He says, “There is truly something for every girl at SCA.” He notes the excellent education, the growth in faith, and the many opportunities to explore and lead sports teams and clubs as key reasons for girls to consider becoming a St. Cecilia girl.

When not on campus, Mr. Donlon likes spending quality time with his wife Betsy and their four children (Mollie, Jack, Thomas, and Luke). They enjoy hiking, biking, camping, solving puzzles, and playing card games together.

Thank you, Mr. Donlon, for your five years of service to St. Cecilia Academy!
