Mother Frances Walsh was one of the four foundresses of the Dominican Sisters of St. Cecilia Congregation. She was a pivotal figure in the establishment and early history of St. Cecilia Academy and firmly dedicated to excellent Catholic education for young women. This award is to be given to a Catholic girl from a family with demonstrated financial need in grades 7-12 at St. Cecilia Academy.
St. Margaret of Hungary was an early Dominican who showed her love for Christ in overflowing charity and quiet acts of service to her neighbor. This fund will provide tuition assistance to SCA students with demonstrated financial need in seventh through twelfth grades.
This four-year scholarship is designed for students whose families have significant financial needs and whose daughter has high academic potential. With this scholarship, St. Cecilia pledges to give the family to whom it is awarded the full demonstrated need up to $10,000.
There are two dates for the Principal’s Scholarship Essay Exam:
Awarded to qualified students interested in the arts who, because of financial circumstances, would otherwise be unable to attend. Established in 1990 by Agnes, an SCA graduate of 1940, who was a contributor to the arts.
ESSAY REQUIRED The student must write a 250-word typed essay in answer to the question, “As a St. Cecilia girl, how will you contribute to the St. Cecilia community in the interest area of the scholarship for which you are applying?”
We ask the student to indicate at the top of her essay the scholarship for which she is applying.

Memorial award named after an SCA sophomore who was an exceptional athlete and excellent role model for many other students. This Community Foundation grant will provide assistance for girls who wish to attend and demonstrate need.

On the occasion of her 50th reunion, the Ammarrell family set up this Scholarship to honor their mother’s strength, her dedication to academic excellence, and her devotion to St. Cecilia Academy.
The Scholarship will be awarded to a graduating senior who demonstrates a desire to study in the fields of engineering, mathematics, or the sciences.
REQUIREMENTS: A cumulative minimum B average in all math and science classes is required, and the award is based on the review of grades earned throughout the recipient’s career at St. Cecilia Academy.
Awarded to a rising sophomore, junior, or senior who shows a commitment to SCA and whose family is encountering financial hardship but is committed to a Catholic education for their daughter.
Rising senior who demonstrates interest and ability in entrepreneurship and has demonstrated financial need.

Designated for a family with financial need. Established in memory of Alma by her sister, Elizabeth, who was dedicated to supporting Catholic education. The scholarship started in 2014 through a bequest in Elizabeth’s will.
In memory of “Kathy,” who graduated in 1982, and who was an exceptionally caring and loving young lady. The award goes to qualified students who exhibits those same qualities.
