CONGRATULATIONS, MRS. AMIE PIKE, ON 20 YEARS AT SCA!

Congratulations, Amie Pike, for celebrating 20 years at St. Cecilia Academy! Mrs. Pike serves as the Fine Arts Department Chair, Visual Arts Teacher, Director of Camp St. Cecilia, and is a SCA parent. Her favorite part about teaching at St. Cecilia is seeing students' creativity come alive and grow in the classroom.

We asked Mrs. Pike to share her background and thoughts about her time as a SCA faculty member.
“My hometown is Indianapolis, Indiana,” says Mrs. Pike. “I graduated from Ball State University as an Art Education Major with a Special Education minor and continued my studies earning a Masters in Art Education from The Ohio State University.”

“Before I joined the faculty at SCA, I worked for four years in the Metro Nashville Public School system. When I learned a position at St. Cecilia was available, I was excited to join this faith-filled environment.  It was evident to me that the school develops young ladies into leaders, and I wanted to be part of that formation.”

Mrs. Pike has instructed almost one thousand students since her time at SCA, and her students have continued their art education in top schools across the country. The curriculum offered by the Fine Arts Department allows interested students to incorporate art, dance, music, and voice into their semester schedules. If a student wishes to pursue the arts in college, she is supported and encouraged by Mrs. Pike and other faculty members to reach her goals and matriculate.  “St. Cecilia Academy is a special place for girls to learn and develop their potential as young ladies,” she says.  “It is a joy to watch the love of the arts come alive in the girls throughout their time at SCA.”

Outside of the classroom, Mrs. Pike has been a faculty leader in numerous SCA Interim trips. Her favorites include Italy, New York City, London, and Dublin. In her free time, she enjoys creating art in her studio, reading books, watching movies, traveling, and spending time with her family.

Thank you, Mrs. Pike, for your 20 years of service to St. Cecilia Academy!
